If You Find Someone Who Makes You Smile, Keep Them Close

If you find someone who makes you smile, keep them close. That may sound like a pretty simple statement, but it's something that we all too often forget. We get caught up in our own lives and we forget to appreciate the people who make us happy. But those people are the ones who deserve our attention and our time. So if you're lucky enough to have found someone who brings a smile to your face, don't let them go.

We all too often take the people who make us happy for granted.

We all take the people who make us smile for granted. We assume that they will always be there to make us laugh, but we don't often think about how much they mean to us. The truth is, these people are some of the most important in our lives. They add joy and laughter when we need it most, and their mere presence can brighten up any day. So if you find someone who makes you smile, don't let them go - cherish them and let them know how much they mean to you.

We get caught up in our own lives and we forget to appreciate the people who make us happy.

We get caught up in our lives and we forget to appreciate the people who make us happy. I'm guilty of this myself. We get so wrapped up in our own problems and stresses that we forget about the people who make us smile. The people who brighten up our day and make us laugh. But lately, I've been trying to change that. I've been trying to take a step back and appreciate the people in my life who make me smile. And I encourage you to do the same.

how to make someone smile with words

Take a few minutes today to send a nice text to someone, call a friend or get a cup of coffee with a loved one. What I've noticed over the past few days is that small, unexpected acts of kindness can have such a big impact on your mental health. I've been feeling so much better since I've cut negativity out of my life and started focusing on giving back. So go ahead. Take a few minutes to give back and make someone's day.

When you're busy taking care of everyone else, it's easy to forget how close you are to that person who can make you smile. Tell the people in your life that you love them. Hold their hands. Connect with them in the physical world instead of just talking on the phone.

The Internet is full of distractions. It's easy to get sucked into a never-ending Facebook scroll or a Netflix marathon.

But those people are the ones who deserve our attention and our time.

If you take the time to notice, there are people all around us who make us smile. They could be a friend, a family member, or even a stranger. And although we may not always have the time to stop and talk to them, they're the ones who deserve our attention and our time. Because in addition to making us smile, they remind us of what's good in the world. If you remind yourself of this on a daily basis, you will start to notice you can't have a conversation without smiling at least once. There's always a sunny spot in every rainy day. You never know what someone is going through. So, be kind. Listen more than you talk. It's okay to walk away from a fight. Be present. Accept that not everyone will like you. That's okay. Don't take things personally.

Great leaders understand the importance of purposely building a team of positive people around them. Positivity is contagious, and it shouldn't be a company's mission to continually search for the negative. Push yourself to find the positive in every situation and you'll not only be an effective leader but also a happy one. What are you doing to accentuate the positive in your life? How has it helped you become a better person or leader?
